Redirect mail and update utility accounts

Your local Post Office for mail redirection, the municipality for rates, water, and electricity, and each utility or service provider.

Arrange mail redirection or collection so nothing important sits in an unattended postbox. Contact the municipality to move the rates and services account into the estate's name and keep paying it. Update or close accounts for electricity, water, internet, and telephone as appropriate. Watch for post from institutions you did not know about, unopened envelopes often reveal forgotten policies and accounts.
