Where

Your own GP, and free bereavement support services such as Cruse.

How

Tell your GP you are bereaved, they can help with sleep, anxiety, and time off work. Phone a bereavement helpline, you do not need to be in crisis to use them. Ask your employer about compassionate leave and any employee assistance programme, which usually includes free counselling. Hand at least one practical task on this list to someone else, and let them get on with it.

This is practical information, not legal, medical, or financial advice.
